Florian Beckers hat Fotografie an der Folkwang Universität der Künste in Essen studiert und sein Studium mit Auszeichnung abgeschlossen.
Er ist als Fotograf und Hochschuldozent für Fotografie in Düsseldorf tätig und berufenes Mitglied der Deutschen Fotografischen Akademie (DFA), der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Photographie (DGPh) und ‚Professional‘ im Bund Freischaffender Fotografen und Filmgestalter (BFF).

Seine „Licht-Bilder“ entstehen aus der Dunkelheit heraus und verschwinden teilweise wieder in ihr. Es ist das Zusammenspiel der leeren Fläche mit Restbild. Verlassene, topographisch unbestimmte Orte, leere, ungesicherte Räume, in die Stimmungen projiziert werden. Da sie kein klares Bild von der Außenwelt abgeben, handeln sie vielmehr von der Welt in unserem Inneren. Das noch Sichtbare ist dabei lediglich Auslöser für das, was außerhalb der Abbildung liegt, aber das Wesentliche darstellt.

Florian Beckers studied photography at the Folkwang University of the arts in Essen (Germany) and graduated with distinction.
He works as a photographer and lecturer for photography in Düsseldorf and is member of the the German Photographic Academy (DFA), the German Society for Photography (DGPh) and ‚Professional‘ in the Association of Freelance Photographers and Film Designers (BFF).

His „photographic images“ emerge from the darkness and disappear partly into it again. It is the interplay of the empty area with the rest of the image. Abandoned, topographically indefinite places, empty, unsecured spaces into which moods are projected. Because they do not give a clear picture of the outside world, they are more about the world inside us. The things which are just visible serve only to trigger off something that exists beyond reproduction but means the essential.
